The number of victims of the collapse of the hotel building in northern China has increased


The death toll from the collapse of a two-story hotel building in northern China increased to 29 people. This was reported on August 30 by Xinhua News Agency. The tragedy occurred in the Chinese province of Shanxi in Xiangfen County, Linfen City District at about 09:40 local time (04:40 Moscow time) on August 29. The collapse of the roof at the Jiuxian Hotel occurred during a festive banquet. About 800 people took part in search and rescue operations. In total, 57 people have been removed from the rubble, of which 29 were killed, 28 were injured, among them seven with serious injuries. All the victims were hospitalized, there is no threat to their lives. A special commission was created to investigate the causes and circumstances of the collapse. The investigation is under the control of the security committee of the State Council. Earlier, the news agency reported 17 dead as a result of the collapse of the hotel building in northern China.
