Ex-deputy of the war party became the new language ombudsman of Ukraine


The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed a new commissioner for the protection of the state language (the so-called language ombudsman) deputies of the Rada of the previous convocation Taras Kremin. The government made the corresponding decision today, July 8, the correspondent of the news agency reports. It is reported that the candidacy of Kremin, who had two competitors, was chosen by rating voting. Ministers have not yet explained what is the reason for their choice. In the Rada of the previous convocation, from 2014 to 2019, Kremin was a people's deputy from the Popular Front party Turchinov Yatsenyuk, which has a reputation as a pronounced party of war. Recall that the previous language ombudsman Tatyana Monakhova held this post from November 2019 to April 2020 and resigned with a scandal, saying that due to bureaucratic obstacles she could not receive a payment.
